Toi Toi Single Vineyard Reserve Central Otago Pinot Noir 2010
Dark coloured and with some depth in the fragrance as well; a delicious Central Otago Pinot Noir evolving with fineness of texture and abundant fruit strength. A wine with five years of fine dining ahead, perhaps best 2012-2014.
Toi Toi Organic Reserve Hawkes Bay Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
A very warm and inviting red, gentle oak and tannin adding their condiments to a wine ideal for red meats and spicy foods. Plenty of Cabernet spine adds to the wine‚ adds to the wines longevity with the vibrant fruit flavours able to open further with bottle age. A well-constructed wine from the vineyard onwards. Five years very good drinking ahead but worth decanting for the next two years.
Toi Toi Marlborough Riesling 2010
Very nice drop of scented Marlborough Riesling, full of ripe fruit and with a nose to show the world. Good mouth-feel and flavours which will kick-on for a couple of years, unfold a little more but they are all here now and what will develop is complexity. A fine wine in good shape and with two years of excellent drinking ahead. Perfect for a bar situation (by the glass) or enjoying in the afternoon with nibbles or antipasto.
Toi Toi Brookdale Reserve Marlborough Pinot Gris 2010
Tasting quite dry, plenty of body, spine and fruit weight and still showing a youthful exuberance. The dryness suggests a food wine, pale colour supports this. A wine to show best 2013-15. Very much on the right track and the youth will shine on with bottle age to show an outstanding Pinot Gris, like the 2009 vintage.
Toi Toi Reserve Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010
Rounded off nicely with 18 months behind it, this has a generous gooseberry character in the Marlborough tradition. A wine with some body and fruit weight, unfolding well now, through 2012. Tasting dry, a lovely early-course or lunch-time wine.
