Excellent deep colour with smoky aromas. In the palate there are attractive dried herb characters allied to plentiful blackcurrants and brambles. Big, powerful with slightly coarse tannins. Good now but keep some for later.

In what was an extensive and high class line-up of rieslings this would be our favourite. Lemons and limes on the nose succumb to the vibrant grapefruit and marmalade flavours that have a mineral undercurrent. The acidity is firm and the finish long and dry. Very high class wine.
