Our Vineyard

The spiritual home of Toi Toi Wines is Brookdale vineyard. It is a 28 hectare vineyard at the head of Brookby Road, in the Omaka Valley, Marlborough.

Brookdale has a tremendous pedigree with the neighboring vineyards being Seresin, Cloudy Bay, Nobilos and Omaka Springs Estate.

Situated in a beautiful narrow valley with its own micro-climate, there are hills on the East, South and West sides and full sun from the North.

In 2007, over 55,000 plants (80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Pinot Gris) were planted on a vertical shoot positioning (VSP) trellis system.

The dominant soil structure is the reputed Marlborough "Renwick Soil".

Created over thousands of years, Renwick soils are alluvial soils of glacial outwash origin and consist primarily of well drained "greywacke" (pronounced graywacky) gravels that are brown to bluish in colour and intermixed with sand and silt. It has long been recognised that Renwick soils are ideal for the growing of grapes being both well drained and with the stones retaining warmth for a cool climate long growing season.

Though the vineyard is not open to the public, if anyone has an interest in visiting please contact us and we will try and accommodate your visit.
